How I wish I had knowledge of CQ 15 years ago as a young muroora or makoti. Marriage, generally in African Traditions, is not for the faint hearted...there is a huge expectation for the new bride to fit into the new family like a perfect piece of the puzzle 😅 It is my assumption that most new brides only experience culture shock with zero knowledge of CQ.
Your perspective is always so refreshing. I love this and I relate. I not only married into African culture, I married into one different from mine. What a shock to my system to find there was no reasonable way I could fit in. What an experience! Your perspective here has given me a new framework for assessing any potential partnerships in all areas of life.
Corporate office culture. That is a diverse subject. I'm in IT so you can imagine the environment. You come in, assess, conform. If you're offended by swearing best stay away. That in itself is an "acceptable" norm till you're in a meeting with business (aka stakeholders). So never mind changing companies but changing just for people in the same company but a different department... Which brings about corporate culture and sub-culture. Very fascinating topic
It runs so so deep. What I love is that the considerations are adaptable to the area relevant to each person. The swearing note is funny because every IT person I have ever met, at every level, fits this description :D. Thank you for listening.
